Franke Group Successfully Embeds JAGGAER in Day-to-Day Business

Andrea Sala is Procurement Project Manager at the Franke Group, a leading globally active supplier of products and services for domestic kitchens, foodservice systems and the convenience store sector as well as for professional coffee making. Headquartered in Switzerland, with almost 8,000 employees, three divisions and more than 60 companies, Franke is at home on five continents.

In her current role, Andrea Sala is responsible for rolling out technology solutions and everything else to do with procurement. She shared her insights into how Franke achieved project success.

“We have very successfully rolled out four JAGGAER modules covering everything from source to contract, and we have run more than 300 sourcing events and negotiated some 100 contracts since the adoption,” Sala explains. “JAGGAER is a very important part of our technology strategy, already covering the whole upstream, that is to say, strategic part of procurement, and in future we will implement JAGGAER for the downstream part, which is procure-to-pay.”

What does Sala see as the main challenge? “I believe – and this does not just apply to Franke but any organization across the globe – the real challenge is adoption and change management. Implementing JAGGAER and rolling it out is relatively easy. The complex thing is making sure that it works for your organization and people understand what they must do and buy into it, embedding the new platform into their day-to-day activities. For us, adoption started at the inception of the project. We had a very good implementation partner, which did a good job on the change management, and we paid a lot of attention to ensuring that both internal stakeholders and suppliers embraced and understood the journey. We ensured, through extensive training and communication, that teams of stakeholders and suppliers could adopt the technology properly from the first moment.”

And what are the main benefits of the JAGGAER platform, now it has been adopted? “A major benefit is transparency. We can see who is doing what and when, so we can support them, and we can present a more united front to our suppliers through the portal, which also presents a more professional image. We now have full or almost full transparency into our supplier base. An additional benefit is compliance: regimenting our processes and ensuring that contracts are properly approved and stored in the right place.”

Finally, how would Sala describe JAGGAER? “I would define JAGGAER as flexible and extremely close to their customers!”
