The new JAGGAER procurement platform has already yielded 150% ROI in management time and increased supplier relationship efficiency
Madrid, June 20th, 2024.- iryo, leading Spanish private high-speed railway operator, will complete the digital transformation of its procurement department by the end of this year. Among other objectives, the company has committed to carrying out 100% of its sourcing operations and negotiations with suppliers by means of an e-platform.
Since the start its digitalization project with JAGGAER, first Autonomous Commerce company, in November 2022, tenders and purchases launched and drawn up with this technology have grown by almost 55%. Once the second phase of the plan is completed, iryo will be able to manage all of these processes online.
According to iryo, ROI in savings of management time already exceeds 150%, while back -door purchases have decreased by almost 95%. In addition, the company has managed to establish a robust supplier system.
Similarly, in less than half a year, it has achieved complete visibility of 23% of its collaborators, which has translated into a more fluid relationship and less costly processes.
Among others benefits for the company derived from this implementation are reduced administrative times and costs, optimized procurement experience and an increase in contract investment. Moreover, iryo is rolling out AI technologies to ensure regulatory compliance in contracts and procurement policies.
A two-phase project
Two years ago, the company started an evolution in its systems that has taken it from carrying out its procurement processes and negotiations with suppliers manually to digitalization 4.0 and 5.0, following a two-phase plan.
In the first phase, the company designed a supplier module that offers a comprehensive view of data and performance. This helped improve compliance standards across the value chain in terms of transparency, human rights and the environment.
“In this second phase, we are working on the full digitalization of processes, the integration of new technologies and the personalization of purchases. We are convinced that Artificial Intelligence will allow us to get to know each user in an easier and more accurate way,” says Ares Puivecino, CPO, iryo.
“Technology has to be at the service of people and not the other way around. This is why we continue to try and provide the highest value to the procurement team, inspiring the whole process. Their experience, commitment and intuition are key to decision-making”, Ares says.
According to Carlos Tur, JAGGAER country manager for Spain and Portugal, “iryo was born with digital in its DNA, hence it has been able to take a giant step towards the digitization of its operations in a short time. Theirs is a model to be followed by many Spanish companies that still have doubts about the advantages of using an electronic platform which rules out inefficient manual tasks and reduces management effort throughout the entire procurement cycle, allowing the team to focus on more strategic functions.”
