JAGGAER’s Strategic Approach
At JAGGAER we recognize that ESG is a journey, not a destination. Over the course of 2023 and continuing throughout 2024, we have celebrated progress while remaining focused on continuing to meet specific ESG targets. Our organization lives and breathes the cultural value of adaptability by embracing changing customer demands, regulations, and expectations for innovation with products, partners, and processes.
We are committed to advancing environmental, social, and governance practices through a structured, embedded approach; integrating ESG principles in every aspect of our operations.
With a dedicated ESG manager and an ESG taskforce, we continuously review our sustainability performance and engage in initiatives to enhance our impact beyond simply meeting regulatory requirements. We reinforce this by ensuring our ESG progress is reviewed regularly by our executive team and quarterly by our Board of Director’s.
Commitment to Net Zero by 2040
JAGGAER’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 stems from our belief in responsible business operations. Despite being a software company with lower direct carbon emissions compared to other industries, we recognize the importance of reducing both direct and indirect emissions. By adopting a thorough carbon accounting method based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, we measure our emissions across all three scopes.
In 2023, JAGGAER’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions amounted to 8,699 tonnes CO2e, with Scope 3 emissions comprising 92% of this total. Furthermore, during 2023 JAGGER’s carbon reduction targets were verified by the Science-based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and JAGGAER is now in process of communicating our current progress.
JAGGER’s Plan Zero ambition focuses on continuous reduction of emissions, adopting data-driven methods to track performance and aiming for absolute reduction targets by 2040.
Progress Over the Years
We are on track to meet our Net Zero emission targets, with a 28% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions compared to 2021 and a significant reduction in Scope 3 emissions. In 2023, JAGGAER received a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, placing us in the top 9% of our industry and the top 20% of all rated companies. Now in 2024, JAGGAER has been awarded a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, demonstrating continuous improvement in our ESG program. The Gold Medal places JAGGAER among the top 1% of industry peers and the top 5% of all companies rated by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior.
Socially, we have made great strides in 2023 with a 156% increase in employee volunteering, contributing over 300 hours to local communities. The company implemented employee wellbeing programs across all regions, earning recognition as a 2023 Gallagher Best-in-Class Employer in North America. In the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, we launched a Mental Health & Wellbeing platform, led by employee volunteers. JAGGAER maintained its commitment to a flexible working culture and introduced a Working from Abroad Policy.
We developed metrics to track progress toward DE&I goals. In 2023, women will make up 42% of the global workforce and 43% of the Executive Leadership Team.
Governance structures were strengthened, emphasizing the importance of data privacy and information security for JAGGAER, and continuing transparency around our best practices.
