Carmen Gonzalez is the Associate Vice President, Strategic Procurement Services for Emory University. She is responsible for providing strategic direction to Emory’s ‘source to settle’ processes including Strategic Sourcing, Contract Administration, Procurement Operations, Travel Services, Credit Card Administration, and Accounts Payable. She is the executive sponsor for the campus-wide Emory Procurement Network. Additionally, Carmen partners with Emory’ schools, units, and high-level leadership regarding key procurement initiatives, compliance and strategies.
Prior to Emory, Carmen worked for UPS as a Corporate Procurement Director for Indirect Sourcing and as the Global Mobility Director for Human Resources. In those roles, Carmen had global responsibility for policy design, supplier management, and operational execution. Additionally, Carmen worked across the country in various procurement and supply chain roles at companies including Henkel Corporation, Coors Brewing Company, Herman Miller and Kimberly-Clark. She served on the board of the Rocky Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council in Phoenix, Arizona and participated in many corporate and community organizations supporting supplier diversity and professional development for women and Hispanics.
Carmen received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business and her Bachelor of Arts in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.
